But that's exactly what the federal government has done. The last five years, we've averaged $6.5 trillion. Last year, we spent 6.9. This year, we're on a path to spend $7.3 trillion. So 4.4 to $7.3 trillion, that's a 63% increase while our population has grown 2.6%. So what we need to do is we need to return like a family would to some kind of pre pandemic spending level.
