I don't think there's any other way that you're going to change the fiscal trajectory of this country unless you provide constitutional restraints on Congress and their ability to continue to drive us deeper into debt. We were one vote away in the mid-1990s in the US Senate from passing a balanced budget amendment out of Congress and sending it to the states for ratification. And just think at that time we basically were running a balanced budget. I mean, we had three years in a row where the federal government in the late 90s was actually running a balanced budget.
