He's a decorated Green Beret, having served 23 years on active duty, was involved in a lot of campaigns. He earned a lot of military decorations ranging from the Bronze Star to Legion of Merit. He was also wounded in action and was awarded the Purple Heart. which obviously, when you're in Special Forces, that is kind of the cost of doing business, and that can happen.
