So we're here to announce today we have submitted this proposal which we fully anticipate will be warmly received and properly received. We want to make a difference. And so FWC staff has submitted what's called an exempted fishing permit EFP to the US Secretary of Commerce to allow state management of the recreational red snapper season fishery in federal waters beginning in 2026. This proposal includes a 39 day recreational season for Florida anglers and four higher operators. The same number of days used when we took over the Golf Red snapper. (10:11–10:31)
