Over the years, that belief has only deepened. Serving as a member of this assembly and for the past 13 years as its speaker, has been the greatest professional honor of my life. Together, We have worked to uphold the legislature as a co-equal branch of government. defending its constitutional role and restoring balance when the balance was tested.
