We have the highest burden of chronic disease of any nation ever in history. We 77% of our kids cannot qualify for military service. When my uncle was president, we spent zero on chronic disease. Today we spent 48 cents out of every federal dollar that you pay in taxes is going to treat chronic disease if you include the Social Security Administration, the VA and my agency. And so it's existential for our country. It's a cost that is rising exponentially by the year. And it's rising because we're getting sicker and sicker. (07:48–07:59)
