I joined the private sector for about 10 years as well after the military and was able to benefit from our economy and our growing financial sector post crisis. So I helped banks in New York, kind of come back from the financial crisis. and then coming back to Pittsburgh, joined PNC bank and had a lovely career with them. And this opportunity to serve again in the public sector representing the people of our district was something that I couldn't pass up. (20:04–20:10)
