If you look at the numbers from 2022 and 2023, they are alarming, and especially when you consider that overall crime is trending downward. But juvenile crime here and across Arizona and the rest of the nation is on the rise. Between 2022 and 2023, we saw a 350% increase in the number of first degree juvenile murder cases filed into adult court. So that represents from six cases in 2022 to 27 in 2023. In the aggravated assault category, we went from twelve to 25. Other crimes like armed robberies and drive by shootings also went up. (04:40–04:52)
