But in reality, there are thousands of oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico right now that oil companies have left vacant past their deadline, many of which are at risk of releasing toxic chemicals into the ocean. On top of that, The US is forced to use taxpayer money to clean up after the oil companies. And they've made billions in profit, yet they don't uphold their end of the deal. That's really outrageous.
