So during the lead up to the Constitution, the big states and the small states battling back and forth, he came up with what became known as the Connecticut Compromise. In the House of Representatives, proportional representation, good for the big states. In the U.S. senate, everybody had equal representation, important for the small states. Shakespeare once said, a cobbler is a mender of men's souls. Roger Sherman came up with a Connecticut compromise, and 250 years later, our Constitution stands tall. (00:28–00:39)
