Recognizing the urgency of this threat, I was proud to introduce the new World Screwworm Preparedness Act of 2025 and believe that this legislation will help bolster our defenses and enhance surveillance and ensure that we have the necessary resources and infrastructure to prevent and respond to potential outbreaks. With this in mind, I would like to encourage you to consider a new sterile fly facility. That A sterile fly facility is established here in the United States, but consider more air base in Hidalgo county as its potential site. (15:43–16:06)
