Senator Rounds Questions Witnesses at an Appropriations Subcommittee Hearing

Published | Video Starts at 03:58

Okay, thank you. Acting Comptroller Brown. Currently, GAO has a goal of issuing opinions within 120 days following formal acceptance if an agency should have submitted a rule to Congress. On January 30, I sent a letter to you asking for a GAO opinion that a United States Postal Service rule that had the net effect of decreasing service for rural Americans should have been submitted to Congress. I was glad to see that GAO formally accepted my request on February 13th. And I understand that GAO is currently working on this opinion and anticipates completing the request by June. (03:58–04:13)
