This, to me, may be the biggest civil rights issue of our generation. Our kids are not learning how to read. Here in Michigan, 39% of third graders could read at grade level, 39%. If you don't read in the fourth grade, by the fourth grade, you have a 70% chance of going to prison or being on welfare. This is so unacceptable. And here's the good news.
