This is an opportunity for us to protect our shared American heritage, to maintain the conditions needed for self government, and to defend what Hakeem said earlier, the rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Working together, We have the potential to be one of the most consequential congresses in the history of this great nation. So long as we work together, we do the right thing and we put America first.
