In 2023, the DoD found that aircrew members had a 24% higher chance of cancer compared to the rest of the us population, including [Aircrew members have] an 84% higher chance of melanoma, a 39% higher chance of thyroid cancer, and a 16% higher chance of prostate cancer. And these numbers for fighter pilots are significantly higher, and at significantly younger ages.
