There was one time I only got one gift, and that didn't work out very well for everybody at that time. But birthdays mean a lot because I didn't have it guaranteed to be here. And my mama told me after my daddy passed that the portrait of the Lord's supper that was always surrounding us in my bedroom was a reminder that in case I didn't make it, the Lord was always watching over me.
