Today in the assembly, my Democratic colleagues and I tried to secure fairness for Wisconsin taxpayers but were blocked by corporate special interests and Assembly Republicans. The dark store theory is a legal loophole that large corporations and their attorneys have taken advantage of in order to dramatically reduce the amount they owe on their property tax bill. With big corporations paying less than they should, local homeowners and small businesses have to pick up the slack paying more than their fair share. But there's an easy bipartisan solution.
