So when a court ordered the governor to fulfill his legal obligation and call special elections, Legislative Republicans attempted to step in and quickly scheduled an extraordinary session of the legislature to pass a bill to rewrite our election laws. and prevent special elections in either of the districts from being held. On March 28, an appellate judge rejected Governor Walker's attempt to to sidestep the law surrounding special elections, and he and legislative Republicans finally relented. (01:05–01:18)
