I remember I got in a little bit of trouble in 2018 when I said, you know, if they voted for Donald Trump, we'll just have to find voters elsewhere. I got, I got in trouble for that. But the fact is We have seen a constant decline in black voter participation since the 2012 election. There are folks across the state and more rural communities who have also stopped showing up as well. And it's because people don't oftentimes see Democrats as a party that's going to fight for them.
