And it feels as if with these public traded utilities that the customer, the consumer, the rate payer is not the priority in this equation, it's the shareholder. And that puts us all at a disadvantage. So My plan would call for freezing the utility rates, it would call for capping CEO pay, and it would also close that revolving door that allows public service commissioners to serve on the commission, then go on to become utility executives. The same way that in Congress people shouldn't be able to leave and go become lobbyists in the same industry, industries that they were tasked with regulating. (08:57–09:12)
