And I want to congratulate Ruth Forston for the determination and perspective she brought to this campaign and for her service in Hartford. We are at a moment of crisis in our country, a moment of enormous challenge and change. The economic gains that are making a few Americans wealthy beyond all imagining are leaving too many Americans out. The cost of everything from health care to housing to electricity mean the numbers just don't add up for most people.
