You demonstrate that renewing American education is not only about what our students learn, but about restoring accountability, empowering parents, and returning decision making to the people closest to the students. I hear that from the president all the time. The best education is that education that's closest to the child where parents, superintendents, of schools, principals, leaders can help with their education. They know what is needed most in their communities. It's not one size fits all, and you can't force it from the top down. (09:06–09:16)
