During my tenure as Hempstead Town Supervisor, I fought hard to put our unions to work and to address their needs. I'll do the same in Congress and with your help, we'll make that happen. In the past as supervisor, I've worked with labor representatives to appoint the first union member ever to the Town of Hempstead Industrial Development Agency. I passed apprenticeship program legislation and I fought for project labor agreements on jobs like the UBS arena at Belmont and at the Hub. (00:27–00:35)
