And I was their state advocate, their state lobbyist for head start. And I, the thing that a lot of people don't know about this free federally funded preschool program is that It's requirement that half of the board, the decision makers, have to be parents, active parents. So when you are trying to develop policy and you do it with moms who are living at the federal poverty level and actively parenting a toddler, your perspective changes on what works, what's important, and what can be negotiated.
