Well, first of all, The federal government said that they were going to keep national parks open. So that was very encouraging. The problem and what makes this shutdown different than previous shutdowns is the state is already facing huge funding cliffs because of the partisan Washington budget that, that passed and is slashing health care, among so many other things.
