Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt Briefs Members of the Media, Apr. 8, 2026

Published | Video Starts at 29:08

Good afternoon everybody. Good to see all of you here today. Before I discuss the ceasefire with Iran, I have a quick update from the first lady of the United States. Yesterday marked the very first conviction under the Take It Down Act, landmark legislation that First Lady Melania Trump played an instrumental role in getting passed that protects victims from non-consensual AI-generated sexually explicit images, cyber stalking and threats of violence. This is a huge achievement for the first lady and I know the President is very proud of his wife's efforts in getting this critical legislation passed to protect America's youth. (29:08–29:27)
