And so I see I've worked with the people who are at risk in this situation, and I want to protect them. And that drove me. And then when I ran for attorney general, it was because I was actually doing a lot of work on trying to help people reimagine what a person prosecutors should do around re entry of former offenders and getting them jobs and counseling. My motivation was this work needs to happen, and I know how it can actually make a difference and improve safety in a community. (22:50–23:03)
