Today is an important day for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. With the Department of Agriculture's investment in 24 farms last week to preserve them for posterity, I am now able to announce that Pennsylvania has preserved 6,600 farms more than any other state in the entire country. We are number one in farmland preservation. This work to preserve and protect farms has gone on through and Republican administrations in partnership with local county preservation boards and different farmers from all across our commonwealth.
