Pursuant to Article 6, Section A of the City Charter of the City of Houston, Mayor John Whitmire hereby issues this executive order beginning today. Beginning today, I order an increase in benefit salary in 2026 today to $20 per hour. To January 1, 2027, it goes to $21. October 27, to $22 October. And let me also say this helps, but this is just the beginning. It's not going to be just wages. It's going to be working conditions. (06:31–06:40)
