But we can't just hope to prosecute fraud we need to prevent it. We need to be responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars and place guardrails on federal programs to protect against nefarious schemes and bad actors. We need to ensure that when we commit taxpayer dollars to a particular program that money actually goes to the people that program is designed to help. Republicans have made progress on restoring integrity to federal programs this past year but we have more work to do and we'll continue our efforts to be good stewards of taxpayer dollars and ensure that federal programs are serving the American people as intended.
