Mr. President, I want to close by saying I hope my colleagues will reconsider and vote for the McCain amendment, which will reverse the pillaging of a half a trillion dollars from the Medicare program to create a new entitlement program. We should fix Medicare's unfunded liabilities of nearly $38 trillion and not steal from Medicare to create another unsustainable entitlement program. that will of course have to be paid for by our children and grandchildren on top of all the other debt that we are piling on them.
