It was obviously not sufficient. At minimum, it was insufficient to ensure that those entering the country did not pose a threat. The letter I referred to a moment ago also referenced the Office of Inspector General report that found that the Department of Homeland Security had no established process for monitoring the Afghan parolee population as their parole periods extended expire. In other words, they were allowed into the country for ostensibly for a two year period of time, given a work permit, given social service benefits. (13:19–13:31)
