And the impact he's had on that system during his first six years was so positive that Our current Governor, Abbott, has reappointed him now to two additional terms after identifying an opportunity for the university's flagship campus to further Houston as one of the leading cities in the country and the world for medicine. He poured time and treasure into helping strengthening its relatively new School of medicine in 2022.
