CBP's seizures at the border have decreased from 26,700 pounds of fentanyl in 2023 to 11,500 pounds of fentanyl in 2025. So basically cut it less than half, maybe by two thirds. And the Drug overdoses in the United States, including fentanyl poisonings, have fallen from a peak of around 111,000 in 2023 to about 68 or 69,000 deaths in the 12 months ending in January 2026. Again, a terrible tragedy, to be sure, but still movement in a more positive direction. These are hopeful signs, but of course, we cannot celebrate prematurely. (04:11–04:29)
