Rep. Larsen Telephone Town Hall with Assistant Leader Joe Neguse (March 20)

Joe, go ahead. Joe Nogus, yeah, thank you. Thank you, Peter, for your very thoughtful question. I'd say a couple of things, of course. I certainly share your sentiments. Dismantling the Department of Education makes no sense. It is short sighted and it will have dramatic negative consequences for students in Washington state, students in Colorado, kids across the country, educators, rural schools in my district and in Congressman Larson's district. When you think about the functions of the Department of Education providing support for students with disabilities, Title 1 schools in some of our rural and urban areas, it is just nonsensical that the Trump administration is now attempting to dismantle the agency.
