Let's not make an accidental event trigger cataclysm. There were events that occurred along the way in which we thought the Soviet Union was launching a nuclear weapon at us. And There was an event in which the Soviet Union thought we were launching a nuclear weapon at them. But in part because of the relationships and the communication, in neither case did that start a nuclear war.
