That is true. People are working and they're not getting paid, including my staff that is helping us out here today. So this shutdown was completely avoidable. Republicans control the House, the Senate, and unfortunately, the White House. They had every tool to keep the government open, but instead of doing their jobs, they chose chaos. Let me be clear.
