So this whole idea of, oh, you got to separate church and state, that doesn't say that in the Constitution. Does it not? No. The separation of church and state actually comes from a letter that Thomas Jefferson wrote in 18, I think it was 1804, to the Danbury Baptist association saying there will be a wall of separation to protect churches from government. And now folks have taken that statement from that letter and said, now it should be a wall the other direction. That was never the intent. (01:33–01:46)
