Today is the first installment of the Markline Minute, a weekly update where I share a story or an interesting piece of information that I want you to know. In this week's Markline Minute, I'm going to talk about Road Lane Lines recently, The federal government updated its guidelines to advise states to increase the width of lane lines from 4 inches to 6 inches on roads with speed limits greater than 40 mph. The same guidance is why some lane lines are now half white and half black. These changes are designed to make road lane lines easier for drivers to see and also so vehicle lane assist and automation systems can detect them. (00:08–00:29)
