So in 2023, we passed legislation that made the NREMT exam optional at the discretion of the local EMS units. In 2024, after the law was changed, the number of new EMRs in the state of Wisconsin went up four times in just one year. So obviously, this NREMT exam was a significant barrier for people entering the EMS service. So I'm glad we had a chance to get that corrected. (01:09–01:18)
