In fact, more than 21 million voting age American citizens do not have proof of citizenship readily available. Again, it doesn't mean they're not US Citizens. Obtaining those documents can cost money, take time, and require navigating complicated government systems. Voting is a fundamental right. It should be accessible, secure and protected. Americans already have to provide identity verification when they vote. We can protect election integrity without creating additional barriers to eligible voters. (03:13–03:20)
