For years, Congress has recognized that small businesses deserve a fair shot at competing for Department of Defense contracts. By law, many contracts under the $350,000 value are supposed to be set aside for small businesses. But a recent Department of Defense report found that more than a quarter of those dollars aren't actually reaching them. That's why I introduced the Small Business Defense Contract Protection act and have fought so hard for its success. (00:07–00:15)
