I've had the privilege of touring small businesses in my district who are at the forefront of research and development that will enhance everything from medical treatments to new defense technologies to many of These businesses were SBIR STTR award recipients. We had 11 businesses receive [SBIR STTR] awards in 2024, four more recipients in 25. I was proud to vote in favor of the SBI, the Small Business Innovation Economic Security act last week which passed the House and would reauthorize those programs. (01:54–02:00)
