On this day we honor the lives of the Indigenous people who've lost their lives to horrific violence who never made it back home to their families. As a state with many tribal nations and Indigenous citizens, Michigan has a responsibility to confront [the crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous people] directly and demonstrate real commitment to safety and justice.
