National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous People

Published | Video Starts at 00:15

As a state with many tribal nations and Indigenous citizens, Michigan has a responsibility to confront [the crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous people] directly and demonstrate real commitment to safety and justice. That's why since taking office, I've been working closely with our tribal governments to strengthen investigations, improve communication across jurisdictions, collect data and help prevent further violence against Indigenous people.
