And that's why I'm optimistic about Michigan's future. It's the gritty can do attitude that defines our state's character. The ordinary acts of kindness we practice every day. It's Republicans, Democrats and independents who put politics aside to solve problems. That's what Michigan's about. It's why I've never been prouder to be a Michigander. Right now, it can be hard to stay positive. It's frustrating to just stay afloat financially, much less get ahead. (49:30–49:37)
