Just over a year ago, we collectively declared what is common sense and true and that what we've always known in our hearts, but that is really hard sometimes for a community and a government to collectively declare, which is that Jail is not a home. Jail does not help end homelessness. That in fact, it makes things worse, and that punishment is not healing. It is not the compassionate or the right solution for addressing homelessness.
