A lot of the people who take fentanyl have no idea that the drug they're taking has fentanyl laced onto it. Unfortunately, most of them lose their life. That said, here's what I'M proposing for the upcoming session for one, We want to identify a fentanyl overdose for what it is and that is a poisoning. Two, we want to classify it for the crime that it is and that is murder. Anyone who laces a pill with fentanyl and knowingly sells it to somebody else who loses their life should be arrested and tried and convicted for murder. (20:35–20:41)
