So, once again, Texas has a budget surplus this session, the largest in the country, like we did last session. And like last session, we. Well, we use that budget surplus to buy down property tax rates. Knowing this, The state does not impose a property tax. Only local governments impose a property tax. And so the state cannot cut the tax, but we can use our surplus to buy down those tax rates. However, we did that last time, and a lot of people didn't feel that decrease. (04:04–04:10)
