To help right this wrong, the legislation provides nearly $685 million to implement common sense projects, including irrigation infrastructure improvements, water and wastewater treatment projects, watershed protection, groundwater storage, and economic development projects. In addition, The bill recognizes the tribe's senior water rights in a manner that honors tribal sovereignty by providing Zuni the ability to manage their water rights for agriculture, commercial, residential, and other uses.
