Currently, the financial support for books, supplies and equipment provided under the post 911 GI bill stands at $1,000 per year. This amount, unchanged over a decade, no longer reflects the rising costs of educational materials and living expenses. My bill, the Veterans Education Assistance Adjustment act, would increase the maximum stipend for books and supplies to $1,400 per year. Additionally, it introduces a cost of living adjustment each year, ensuring that the financial support keeps pace with inflation and the ever increasing costs that our veterans and their families face today.
